Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on March 6, 2023, that he will appoint an independent special investigator to look into alleged election interference by China. Canadian media have recently published detailed reports of Chinese interference in Canada’s elections in 2019 and 2021, which Beijing has vehemently denied.
