A day after his surprise trip to Kyiv, US President Joe Biden reiterated on February 21, 2023, Washington’s support ahead of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Hours earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had blamed the West for the war and announced he would suspend Russia’s participation in its last nuclear non-proliferation treaty with the US. Speaking in Poland, Biden expressed gratitude to Warsaw for its “cooperation and help” in sending military supplies into Ukraine.
