Asia Pacific countries face record COVID cases

Australia’s state of New South Wales has set a new high for daily COVID-19 cases, while Thailand’s death toll from the virus crossed 10,000, with most deaths coming in the last four months.
The surge comes as Vietnam receives some vaccine help from the United States – and Taiwan starts using its own jab for the virus.
